USB-C cable is too short/non-replaceable and Mini DisplayPort not working

Concept is good but there are some limitations/problems. First, while the HDMI port works fine, I don't get any video when I try to use the mini DisplayPort instead. The cable I'm using is a Revain Basics Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable (3ft) and I've successfully tested it with another computer on the same 1080p monitor and found the cable to be fine, so it seems to be a mini display port issue on this satechi hub. It's frustrating having to spend time fixing such issues. Also, the USB-C cable that connects this Satechi adapter. Your computer has an end built into an adapter that cannot be disabled. I find this cable to be too short and as a result the end that plugs into your computer's USB-C port often gets unnecessary kinks. I'd rather detach the cable from the Satechi adapter so I can replace it with any length USB-C to USB-C Thunderbolt 3 cable.
