Great router and very easy registration with Comcast.

Great router and very easy to register with Comcast. This model is endorsed by Comcast and they are not kidding when they say this router is Xfinity certified. The router asked for my Comcast account number (you can find it on your monthly bill) and within seconds it was registered and up and running. I was amazed that registration took less time than my old Comcast modem. It's also backwards compatible with DOCSIS 3.1 and 3.0, so it should last for years to come. This is my first Netgear and after reading some terrible reviews from other brands that either get hot or don't register with Comcast I bought this one and I have no regrets. I also looked at the CM700, but apparently the older models suffered from Intel processor issues (probably the same across all major modem brands), so I figured between 3.1 support for future updates and a new-gen processor, it was the extra 50 worth dollars. Finally, the $10 I paid for modem rental goes towards a speed boost, so this modem is ready to use. Note: I purchased a 14-port Cisco Systems Gigabit Dual WAN VPN Router (RV325K9NA) to pair with this modem as the primary WAN gateway and DHCP server for my home network. Between these two, I get max ISP speed on all devices under any load.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Useless features
