Review on 🌐 Enhanced Magellan Maestro 3200 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigation System by Conrad Greene

Good product but not great

This product works as advertised, it gives you verbal directions to the location you specified. It's small, literally fits in a shirt pocket, the image is easy to read, the "voice" is loud enough to be understood, and the battery life is good. It announces each intersection with a loud tone (there are several options to choose from), and each point is very accurate, enough to impress passengers who have never used GPS. The screen at the top and bottom of the screen clearly shows which road you are currently on and which road you are about to turn or exit. On the downside, the sights library is quite small - small enough to be inadequate if you rely on it instead of typing in addresses. I believe they all do their job, but each brand has its own characteristics - both good and bad. The best thing about the Magellan 3200 is that as you approach an intersection or exit, the GPS will show you a small, abstract diagram of the intersection with a clearly marked path for you to follow. It's not necessary for a simple right turn at an intersection, but in some cases when you're exiting the Autobahn and need to choose one of three closely spaced exits immediately after exiting, it's very valuable! However, you have to be able to look at the screen, which is not always easy in heavy traffic. The downside is that the Magellan 3200 isn't good at distinguishing between small turns on the freeway and ramps or sharp turns. Sometimes when I'm driving onto the freeway, I want to know how far it is to the next exit - can I relax for a few hours or will I be out in two minutes? You will never learn anything from this device! It picks random points on the highway (sometimes but not always at obvious small curves) as waypoints and announces an upcoming junction. Until you get to the bottom of it, you'll never know if it's a real exit or if you're continuing down the highway as if nothing happened. It's annoying but not deadly. On the other hand, sometimes it announces a "small right turn" and you will swerve and make a 270-degree turn onto a new road! It's been almost a year since I bought it on Revain's Lightning Deal. . I feel like I got more than my money's worth, but I expect to replace it soon with a GPS that announces roads and has a large library of points of interest.
