Weak metal is best for cord clips

I use a Gardner Bender stapler to fasten Category 5E buried staples outside of my home. I decided to try a box of these braces as I sometimes have trouble finding Gardner Bender model braces in stock. They work great in log cabin walls when the cable runs through the fibers of soft pine trunks. When it runs over the fiber, almost every shackle has at least one leg of the shackle that does not penetrate the wood and will bend, denting or tearing the cable's outer jacket and sometimes the foil shield. I haven't had a single tear in the inner jacket yet. In homes with heavier siding, it doesn't matter which direction the grain moves. You will have several staples trying to damage the cable. This occasionally happens with GB staples, most often when your staple hits a screw or knot in the wood. I don't expect every big product to win. These Surebonder staples are pretty flimsy.
