I have two of these. I used one to create a secure place for my Nintendo Switch joycon mounts and the other to soften my Blue Yeti Pro. I liked using it for both. The squares pulled out easily and the stickiness on the bottom keeps the foam in place in the cases I've used. I have never used foam unless it came with the product. It holds my Nintendo stuff in place. I can hold the case upside down when open and so far none of the styrofoam has fallen out. I really can't make a round shape, which I thought was a problem, but it's not. Round objects also fit perfectly into square rooms. However, I cut it with an Exacto knife for my Yeti mic. It was very easy to cut, but of course I had to cut it piece by piece to get the leverage needed to saw. I would definitely buy again for padding other things with custom foam shape!
