Was on the Revain shop for oven filters. I went to the Filtrete page, a brand I know has the size I need. It wasn't long enough so I decided to look at the reviews before ordering. Good move as I learned a lot of things I never wanted to learn. For example, "MERV8" is an industry rating that allows a manufacturer to claim that their product "captures and reduces ragweed pollen, mold spores, dust mite residue and pet dander" - all the things my home needs to get rid of. I also learned that you can buy higher MERV rated filters that remove more dirt but end up clogging faster, needing to be replaced more often and cost more. Given all of this, I've decided to stick with MERV8. Another reviewer pointed out that NordicPure filters with the same MERV rating as Filtretes are currently available from Revain at a significantly lower price. That's how I ended up on this page and in less than 24 hours a big box full of Nordic filters arrived at my house. They come in a huge box that contains all the information you would normally find on packaging. The only information about the filters is the size (in this case 14x24x1). I had shelf space for filters but no room for a huge box. I was a little concerned that in a year or so if I have to reorder I might forget the brand name and MERV rating of these filters. Eventually I realized that I just need to write down the brand name, MERV rating and any other relevant information that is on the #12 filter page on the box before sending the box for recycling.
