Review on Upgrade Your Workshop With LEONLITE'S 40W LED Motion Sensor Shop Light - 2 Pack by Brandon Woodson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great in our utility/laundry room, not our workshop.

We bought a pair and of these for our basement utility/laundry room with an eye to perhaps using them in the adjoining shop space and the part of our basement where we have storage shelves. They work well in the utility room, I think they'll work great in the storage area, but wouldn't work well in the shop. They work well in the utility room because, even though the ceilings there are low, reducing the activation range to a 8' diameter, and the activation time for the lights is short (10 minutes), most of the time people stand and move around in the space in front of the washer/dryer/utility sink, under the sensor end of one of the lights and keeps at least one light on.Not so in the shop, where the entire space needs to stay lit, even when I'm working at one end of the shop where the sensors can't see me. With just 10 minutes of non-adjustable activation time I'd have to frequently move into range to keep the lights on or reactivate them. They do put plenty of light. I just really wish the activation time was switch-selectable and there were different range options, then they'be perfect for our needs.Pros:* Provide plenty of light.* Light is neither a sterile blue-white "daylight" color nor a yellow-warm color, but somewhere in-between. Perfect, I think for a utility room, shop, or storage space.* No random activations from random movement outside the activation zone. (This happens with our current shop lighting.)* Ability to link one light to the next and run multiple fixtures off a single electric plug is nice.* Can be mounted on drop-chains or screwed to the ceiling.* Low energy consumption.Cons:* Narrow, non adjustable activation zone.* Short, non adjustable 10-minute activation time.* No low-level lighting options for dimmed lighting when not activated. It's all the way on or all the way off.

Pros
  • Long-lasting and durable design
Cons
  • The lights may not be effective in extremely low or high temperatures
