I had a crazy roommate I couldn't trust. So I bought this and it kept him out of my room. It has a solid weight and it will be very difficult for him to break it and get inside. However, there is one major downside. The keys are all the same for locks. My other roommate was scared of it too so he went for the same set. The fact is that his keys opened my lock. So all the keys were the same and the madman just had to order a doorknob and the whole security system would be thwarted. Luckily he didn't notice until I undressed and ran away from him. But be warned: it won't disrupt access if the person simply orders another lock.
