PREVENT ACCESS TO KEYHOLE – This door knob lock-out device prevents turning of knob and access to keyhole, ensuring others with a key are not able to unlock the door. For use with keyholes in round door knobs of up to 2-7/16 in. outside diameter. FOR RENTALS, EVICTIONS AND MORE – This lockout device is often used in evictions, rentals, home sales, job sites and in-home or office storage. QUICK, EASY INSTALLATION – Installation is quick and easy – just place door knob lock-out device over the door knob, lock and go!. DURABLE CONSTRUCTION – With diecast construction and a painted finish, this lock-out device is built to last. Cylinder is held in place with an O-ring and is removable when device is open and unlocked. The cylinder cannot be removed when device is closed and locked. PREVENTS - This lock out device is designed to prevent turning of knob and access to keyhole. Note: All padlocks in the set are opened by the same key. The o-ring is removable when the device is open and unlocked and if not re-inserted will not allow lock to work properly.

Broke 1 second out of the box

I would not trust this product. It broke before I even got the text message "Delivered: Your Revain package with Prime-Line S 4180 door handle lock". In fact, I unwrapped the stuck key and the part fell apart. After some fiddling I put it back together and after a few more maneuvers I finally put it on the doorknob. It stays on, but I wouldn't trust it for everyday unlocking and relocking use. If the lock needs to be permanent, it might protect the door.

Great product with recoverable error

This is a great safety device for my mom. She has dementia with the fear that "someone" will break into her house while she sleeps. This device gives her a sense of security. The reason for the 3 stars is in the design! The lock is fixed in the device with a rubber O-ring, which quickly gives way and the locking mechanism falls out immediately! A good workaround for this is to replace the o-ring with a medal-retaining ring, which you can find at your local hardware store. After replacing the…

Stable door handle covers with a conspicuous massive defect

I had a crazy roommate I couldn't trust. So I bought this and it kept him out of my room. It has a solid weight and it will be very difficult for him to break it and get inside. However, there is one major downside. The keys are all the same for locks. My other roommate was scared of it too so he went for the same set. The fact is that his keys opened my lock. It would be better to completely drill out part of the lock.

It took about 3 hours of fumbling until I found a position where the "lock" actually engages. The cylinder falls out immediately. Here's how it works: It's only held in place by a small rubber grommet. But resetting didn't seem to fix it. You could unlock it with anything flat. The reviewers giving the S 4180 bad reviews because of the O-ring are idiots.

I almost didn't buy this because of all the whining about o-ring problems. I was concerned this would be unusable and poorly designed. Sometimes you need to make it very difficult to open a door but don't have the luxury of installing hardware or alarming the door. This is an innovative way to complicate the task. The casting is good and it fits together well. The O-ring that everyone stacks in panties holds the locking mechanism in place when the clasp is open. And if it fails, breaks or dries
