Great for gaming: Yes Usable for everyday use: Yes Pros: - Beautiful colors - Fast response time - Multiple HDMI ports (4) + 1 DP - Best gaming monitor I've ever had - Looks good, hexagon backlight behind a good one Effect. I thought I would turn it off but ended up liking it. - Easy to use - very easy switching between sources with the remote control. You can skip the remote, but chances are the monitor is a little far away. - Stable, I was a little apprehensive about having it on my desk, but it was well balanced and didn't tip over or move once with the stand. - The remote control is focused and very useful. Cons: The weight and size can make it difficult to place it where it needs to be. It doesn't perform well at a normal distance, and you'll need a stable, sturdy table to put it on. Review: This monitor is great for gaming, after using it I will never go back to LCD monitors for gaming. Question. When I thought about buying it, I had this: Can I use it as a daily monitor for work and life? To test this, I used it as my primary monitor on a daily basis. I work as a software developer. I've found using it to be somewhat similar to using a regular sized 4k monitor. I figured I could reduce the size of the screen to fit better and I was able to do it a bit, but in the end I settled on 150% scaling, which is the most comfortable for my eyes. I've found that I need to recline the monitor for comfortable viewing, so you may want to consider the size of your room and whether you can fit a 42" wide by 24" tall monitor. As a result, the remote control suddenly seemed like a stroke of genius. It's easy with the buttons you'll be using and sits nicely on the table. I have found myself using it frequently. After playing around with placement and even mounting it on the Ergotron HX arm, I finally preferred it on a stand. (Ergotron easily handles a monitor if you're dying to have one on hand.) On day one, I kind of felt like I didn't have a dual monitor, but I quickly got used to the large monitor. After working with the monitor for a few weeks, I found that I really liked it. use it. It was good for productivity and in every way, but it's much better for entertainment purposes. I've read about aggressive dimming on OLED TVs, but haven't found an issue with this monitor. It got darker when I sat and stared at the screen for a while, but usually got lighter again when I clicked on it. There were a few times when it was tiring, but not too much. I actually felt it put less strain on my eyes than my old dual monitors, and I quickly learned to appreciate not having to keep glancing back and forth. After a couple of weeks, the LCD screens started working. Looks washed out to me as I'm used to the rich colors of OLED. The anti-glare coating on the screen works better than my LG ultra-wide monitor and doesn't make the screen any less clear or sharp. I suppose the glossy finish on the TVs has a nice "wet" look, but I appreciated the OLED's anti-glare coating. Centering elements on the screen and less extension of some applications. The aspect ratio is the same as a regular 4k monitor, but at this size some elements in the corners and edges were harder to read. No problem for entertainment purposes, more for everyday use. In the end, I feel like I can live with this as my everyday monitor, but I've reverted to my ultra-wide for the greater horizontal spacing and slight curvature that makes the outer edges feel more comfortable. I still use this monitor when the mood kicks in, it's my main monitor for surfing the web, watching videos and of course gaming. I've been using it for a few weeks now and might stick with it as a developer/gamer. My return to an ultrawide monitor for work has less to do with this monitor and more to do with the added features of an ultrawide monitor. Working frantically with multiple applications/windows, a large monitor in a comfortable position just didn't give me more desk space than I thought I needed.
