I was originally looking for a replacement for my pepper mill. After 20 years of service it was finally worn out. I have not yet rated this product for durability as just over a month of use is too soon. (See update below) Pros: 1) It does what it's supposed to do. 2) It looks great on my kitchen counter and stays on the kitchen counter when not in use. Cons: 1) Directions are in fairly small print and difficult to read without a magnifying glass. 2) End caps are designed to prevent excess pepper or salt grains that fall on the food or table from falling further down. Once I had to take the lid off a bowl of hot soup. Very annoying! I was tempted to give a star for that lack alone! UPDATE 10/12/2021. The salt mill is out of order. Regardless of the setting, it only grinds large chunks of salt. That's longevity for you. I cannot recommend this product! The rating is now 1 star.
