Review on 👍 Top-rated Bestop 7531015 TrekStep for 2009-2010 Dodge Ram 1500 & 2011-2018 Ram 1500 (Dual Exhausts Only); Compatible with Rear Either Side by Michael Boyce

I really like this product and it helps a lot with getting in and out. This step required significant modifications to match the factory installed bumper studs on my 2014 Ford F150. The holes in the steps did not fit properly and had to be drilled larger. After assembly, the step was not parallel to the bumper. I then had to remove the step and drill oval holes so I could change the angle of the step. The finished product is flat in the extended position, but still not level and parallel to the bumper in the collapsed position. The construction geometry could have been built a bit better in my opinion. However, after my modifications, its functionality did not outweigh the slightly offensive aesthetics at the bumper level. I would say the step is well made but I've seen many people complain about the end caps coming off the step and Bestop wouldn't replace them. This product could easily have been a five-star buy if its designers had put a little more effort into making the pitch work with the automaker's bolt pattern variation. I'm assuming large mounting holes with a cam insert to allow for a few degrees of rotation so the step is level. (This is a note for Bestop!)
