Hole 1/2 inch and less than 12mm are not the same.
Very well made but will not fit lamps with 1/2" plastic pin like those made circa 2000. I was going to replace 2 of them. Glad I did first tried.the hole is very small.both pins are 13mm.i drilled through but would rather just place the clamp on the table and lower the lamp into the socket.
