I use this in a 20 gallon tank with a 30 gallon Fluval C2 filter. The 12" x 72" roll has a bit of waste around the edges due to the size of the required filter I need. The cardboard template has proven to be the most effective for getting the most out of it. Provides enough filter replacements for several months of use. My tank tends to get a little overcrowded with guppies breeding like crazy which helps keep the water clear. The photo in my review shows the filter after a week of use. This year it will be replaced by a weekend. I use it in combination with a 50 micron filter afterwards. May be a little awkward to cut due to the folded shape. Not unexpected.
