Finally replaced my metal stiletto

I have been knitting for 25 years. . .and has always used a very sharp metal stiletto. When I bought a new sewing machine last year, I bought this needle hoping it would be easier on my sewing machine bed. However, after so many years of using the metal stylet, it took some time to get used to it. After nine months of use, I'm finally ready to review this product. I love how this tool gently grips the fabric and holds it taut without piercing the fabric or scratching the sewing machine. I mostly sew with a stylet in my hand, there are no longer any dangers. The only downside to this stylet compared to sharp metal is that it doesn't hold stitch points together as well, making pins more necessary. With a metal stiletto, I rarely need needles, even for the most intricate quilt designs, because the metal stiletto holds the ends together as I sew. One reviewer gave it multiple stars because it melted when used with an iron. . .Be sure to use a metal stiletto with iron as it will melt plastic and rubber. So this stiletto hasn't completely eliminated the need for my metal stiletto, but I have found myself reaching for it about 80% of the time. ***UPDATE* ** I love this bobby pin so much I ordered a second one for my travel bag so I'm never without it. even on the most intricate quilt designs because the metal stiletto holds the dots together as you sew.
