You get what you pay for and more

I'm not a professional photographer, but I've been an amateur photographer for over a decade. I also rarely review on Amazon because I'm rarely impressed or feel the need to. In this case, I'm both impressed and feel compelled to leave a review. I am not a Yongnuo employee and have not received anything for this review. I bought this lens with my meager salary. I am leaving this review because this is one of the best lenses I have ever owned. It's far from the best lens in terms of quality, and it doesn't have built-in image stabilization (IS), so you can probably see the difference between it and the highest-end Canon CN-E 50mm, which retails for $3,000. dollars is available at retail . Yes, $3,000 for a great fiftieth lens. On the other hand, does this lens cost $70? The performance per dollar spent on it is astronomical. Before that, I had the first version of this lens for about a year. I bought and sold it used when I sold my Canon SL3 to buy a full frame camera (I sold the lens because I didn't know what brand of full frame camera I was going to use). That's why I chose the Canon 5D Mark II. It's a little older than I wanted, but I couldn't resist the price, less than $400 for a full-frame camera that I can mount a magic lantern on and that only has 25,000 shutters. I immediately wanted to buy another Yongnuo 50mm but found out there are actually 2 versions the one I originally had and this version #2. So I bought these and my first experience was no accident these lenses are the only true. This lens does something for the entire consumer photography market; This shows us that there is a HUGE, MASSIVE price premium for lenses. The quality and performance of this lens is almost identical to the $200-$300 Canon version (a friend of mine has one and I've used it many times), but without the insane price premium. We hope that Yongnuo will continue to produce lenses, if only to create more competition, which will lower the prices of products and brands. It's also not weatherproof and has no frills (no IS). Since this lens is so cheap (money-wise) it doesn't matter that it's not built like a tank, and if it breaks it won't force you to sell your car or take out a second mortgage to get it to replace .
