Must-have for beginners

This lens exceeds all expectations. I've been talking about the Canon 50mm for my Rebel T7 but I'm very happy with the value for money this lens offers. It delivers such crisp images but also captures really warm beautiful light with great focus. I'm a beginner photographer and this was my first non-kit lens purchase and I'm very impressed with the pictures I took.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

Slow autofocus and poor resolution

I don't recommend using it with 18MP and above. This is indeed a very soft lens. Also on 2.8. It's REALLY plastic and you can see the stitching where the glass meets the plastic, but it has a metal mount. AF is excruciatingly slow, sometimes taking up to 3-4 seconds to focus, and it's not as sharp as the Canon 50mm f/1.8 (no matter who you're talking to, this lens is at least twice as f/1.8 soft). But hey, if you're not a pro and want a cheap prime lens to start with, it doesn't get much…

Great lens for your money.

The lens is great, it works and the photos are as clear as a normal SLR lens. Just a problem with the autofocus. It's not always centered on your focal point. Once out of 10 the autofocus doesn't work clearly. It's EF, not EF/S, which is why you use a red dot to attach the lens. I'm assuming that's why the autofocus isn't working. I've looked in the camera settings for an option to adjust the EF lens, but there is no option in the settings to toggle between EF and EF/S. This is a great lens for

Big problem: SLR camera lenses

Good morning. I have been using Canon cameras and lenses for over 30 years. In this case, I wanted to try Yongnuo's new Redline lens. I bought it and it arrived in the estimated time but the love only lasted a month. I can say that I liked the speed of the approach, as well as the quality of the picture, but in terms of quality it is inferior. I was about to use it yesterday and the auto focus button fell off and the plastic motors started making a noise suggesting they are stuck or broken. I…

You get what you pay for and more

I'm not a professional photographer, but I've been an amateur photographer for over a decade. I also rarely review on Amazon because I'm rarely impressed or feel the need to. In this case, I'm both impressed and feel compelled to leave a review. I am not a Yongnuo employee and have not received anything for this review. I bought this lens with my meager salary. I am leaving this review because this is one of the best lenses I have ever owned. It's far from the best lens in terms of quality, and
