This lens exceeds all expectations. I've been talking about the Canon 50mm for my Rebel T7 but I'm very happy with the value for money this lens offers. It delivers such crisp images but also captures really warm beautiful light with great focus. I'm a beginner photographer and this was my first non-kit lens purchase and I'm very impressed with the pictures I took.

I don't recommend using it with 18MP and above. This is indeed a very soft lens. Also on 2.8. It's REALLY plastic and you can see the stitching where the glass meets the plastic, but it has a metal mount. AF is excruciatingly slow, sometimes taking up to 3-4 seconds to focus, and it's not as sharp as the Canon 50mm f/1.8 (no matter who you're talking to, this lens is at least twice as f/1.8 soft). The lens is great, it works and the photos are as clear as a normal SLR lens. Just a problem with the autofocus. It's not always centered on your focal point. Once out of 10 the autofocus doesn't work clearly. It's EF, not EF/S, which is why you use a red dot to attach the lens. I'm assuming that's why the autofocus isn't working.
