Review on 🚗 Secure Windshield Mount Bracket for Beltronics / Escort Radar Detectors by Russell Roberson

I was looking for replacement suction cups for my Beltronics Vector 940 detector after the original factory suction cups lost suction after a few years and Beltronics asked $10 including delivery of 4 new cups . I tried to buy regular suction cups at a discount store but found they didn't fit well with the original mount and slipped out of the groove. This replacement bracket comes with 4 cups and I found that it actually works better than the original bracket. The included mount has a wider spread than the original ones, and that's because the included suction cups are probably 1/2 inch larger in diameter than the original suction cups. - These replacement cups will not work in the original mount as they are too close together and overlap. However, it's easy enough to swap out the entire original mount - just press the release button on top of the detector and slide out the original mount, hold the button and insert the replacement mount with two cups inside. Clean the windshield where you will be applying this (I used Armor-All window cleaner but any Windex spray or even white vinegar and a clean cloth or paper towel should do the trick), dampen the inside of the suction cups and then attach it firmly to the cleaned part of the windshield. I found the suction cups fit snugly and snugly in the mount slot. safer than the original cups fit into the grooves of the original bracket, which was a problem at times - once the original cups started to deteriorate and not stick, the detector fell off and one of the original cups fell off and rolled somewhere under my seat, a few Lost dollars in loose change, wrappers of gum and McDonald's fries. Although one of these replacement suction cups was slightly crushed or deformed when removed from the box, it fitted the window quite acceptably, as did a completely round undeformed suction cup. I pulled on the bracket and it's quite secure on the windshield. I suspect this mount will be better overall than the original because I think the larger suction cups last longer and stick harder than the smaller suction cups on the original mount. CONCLUSION: I recommend this product for use with Beltronics metal detectors (and I suspect it will work just as well with Escorts as they are made by the same company) as they appear to work even better and more reliably than the originals less than what Beltronics charges for original replacement suction cups (with Prime shipping to download) it's much better. I usually edit my reviews when my initial opinion of a product changes over time, so I'll see how this mount sticks to my windshield over the hot summer and next winter, and when it stops working I'll die Edit review. and let me know how you are. But for now it's a solid product 5/5.
