Bet 80 cj7. best in engine part

This is the only valve cover I could find to replace my cover that was deformed as the Amc '81 was replaced with a plastic cover with a different bolt pattern. At first, making the cover screw holes didn't help. Not aligned properly so had to install 3 screws on one side and use extension clips to get another 2 screws on the other side. The rear hole then did not mate with anything, resulting in the spreader being used again to push the cover aside even more, and using the rod to push the cover away from the firewall until the bolt finally caught. no problem with the front screw. Thinking that all problems are behind NO! The factory twist in the oil cap does not work, there is a smooth hole in the cap with no slots for turning the cap. So I used vernier calipers and measured 1.2 for the hole and went to the advanced cap search. I ended up using MR. Insert seal 9815 cover for hole 1.25. It was a little tight but works great. The troubles are not over yet! PCV valve and bleed bushings get into the cover so if I go back to the store and find help! Bushings 42306 and several 3/4 heater hoses, and adapted for work. After everything was done the oil started leaking again which was my first problem. I think the lid is at a stalemate because everyone is pushing the studs and not sitting flush. The lid looks good, but it took some time to snap back the original end of the lid to flush and use the RTV. If I can't stop the leak, I will.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
