Review on Inkbird Temperature Controller Fahrenheit Thermostat Test, Measure & Inspect by Kevin Johnson

This is an attractive, nice unit, but I received a non-working unit! When the device was turned on, it would light up for about 1 second showing the correct temperature) then the device would turn off. When switching the device on and off, there was a strong click from the relay. I have powered the device from both a 12V DC power supply and a 12V battery and the behavior was the same. If you turn off the device and then turn it back on, the power cycle repeats itself. The power button was pressed and held multiple times (1-10 seconds) when power was applied in the off state and there was no noticeable response. If I had to guess, 12V AC was expected versus the 12V DC described on the sales page. This seemed to be compounded by the fact that the power cords could be connected any way you like and it still worked. Really disappointed given all the positive reviews and this was the last item that got the 3D printer case heater working. . I contacted Inkbird support and they were responsive and cooperative and in the end they offered to go back to Revain. Two stars instead of one. I received a loan instead of an exchange, I will try another device. Revain offered a non-refundable credit to the account, which I accepted.
