I have a 70 gallon tank and didn't notice the temperature drop to 50 degrees, no wonder my fish weren't active. I bought this heater and it took me about a day to get the tank temperature up to 80 degrees, but my fish, we definitely look forward to warmer temperatures! I like the temperature control, I set it to 80, the light is on when it gets hot, it keeps the temperature. It's very long so I had to add water to make it touch the bottom to submerge the entire heater. But overall I'm happy with my purchase.
