Works REALLY well. Just don't wash in the dishwasher! We made that mistake and it looked awful and we ended up replacing it. We prefer the blade, but I'm sure the shovel will work just as well. In fact, after writing this review, I realized what a great Christmas gift or stocking this could be. I think the hardest thing for me was choosing which shovel or shovel! I LOVE this article. I want NO DISHWASHER written on the handle to remind me there have been several close calls!
