Review on ๐Ÿš— GLASS POLISH 21005 Windshield Polishing Kit with DIY Automotive Glass Polishing Solution by Bryan Gibbons

That's the RIGHT idea, but the WRONG tools.

I initially gave it four stars, but over time I have to lower it to two to appreciate its effectiveness. The product really works because you reduce the number of small scratches and the windshield becomes cleaner because it removes other dirt on the glass, not scratches. But if you look at the headlights and drive at NIGHT you can see that the scratches and curls remain for the most part, albeit less. This causes oncoming headlights to be distorted and you get a fuzzy, foggy spread of light sources falling through your windshield. At first I thought it was as good as I could get my 14-year-old windshield, but it's distracting and potentially dangerous, and turns out you can do better with something else. And I don't know everyone else, but that's what matters to me and why I'm trying to fix it - night driving and headlights. Cerium Oxide and the quality and size of the felt pad in this package is incorrect and insufficient to do a good job. The cerium oxide is too fine/weak and the quality and size of the felt pad is too poor and too small to cut enough into the glass to smooth it. Yes, if you do it often it might end up with small marks and scratches, but I did my entire windshield twice on two machines, each session takes 1-2 hours, and the warps and scratches remain. As this is my first time I thought maybe I was using the drill wrong (too little or too many turns or pressure on the glass and the necessary movement) or not enough mix and water spray and it was my technique not meaning improvised . The RIGHT way if you want to get the entire visual appearance of the windshield right and not just a small scratch is to take cerium oxide powder and mix it with water, using a larger amount and using a good 5 inch felt pad . not three. And that's what I did and the results can't even be compared. I've spent a lot of time doing this for both of my cars and if you need to do the entire windshield do yourself a favor and get the powder and mix it yourself, use a large sponge and if possible a rotary polisher. or a grinder (like a drill, the large size of the plate can make constant contact with the glass difficult). You'll get much better polishing and touch-ups with a lot less time and effort. There is an 8 ounce cerium oxide (which cuts more than this solution) sold on Amazon and you can find a 5 inch backing pad and a felt pad for about the same price as this. I spent a little more money on trial and error, but I hope this review saves you time, effort, and money.
