Recently I went to a children's store to buy a birthday present for my nephew, and out of the corner of my eye I saw "D&M Acrylics" on the counter. I was surprised that acrylic is used not only for nail design, but also art paints are made from it, and for children (4+ is written on the box). Looked, read, but did not buy. A few weeks after that, there was an urgent need to create a drawing. In the house, except for watercolors, there was nothing, but watercolors were not suitable for this work, as well as gouache. Oil paints are too thick and require some experience to paint with them. Then I remembered acrylic paints, but I didnβt know anything about their properties. I turned to the Internet for help. Information obtained through the Internet inspired me to buy acrylic paints. I immediately rushed to the store, because I was afraid that they might be sold out and I, accordingly, I will not try to paint with paints unknown to me. But, fortunately for me, the goods were still in their place. At home, I immediately began to take samples from the paints. As you can see from the photo, the set contains 24 jars (15 ml each) of different colors, the range of colors is very extensive, you donβt need to mix red and white to get pink, itβs already there. Transparent jars tightly closed with a lid and a protective plastic plate under the lid, inside the jar there is a paint of the consistency of thick sour cream, odorless. I made the first stroke on paper with undiluted paint, the paint lay firmly on the paper (the quality of the stroke was somewhat reminiscent of oil paints) - after a couple of seconds my test stroke was already dry. The second one was applied, diluted with water - the effect of watercolor (transparency) was obtained. Thus, acrylic paints combine the properties of watercolor and oil paints, which is very convenient for creating a combined pattern. Acrylic paints overlap well, for example, on a black background, literally a few seconds after its application, you can already freely paint with white, the paint will not merge, it will not smear. This is how the first test drawing turned out. So, the advantages of artistic acrylic paint for children: a large selection of colors without any mixing; combination of watercolor and oil properties; easy application and fast drying; easy hand washing with soap and water; suitable for drawing on any surface - fabric, paper, wood, canvas, cardboard and others; have no smell; recommended for children from 4 years old, that is, harmless. When dried, they form a film that protects the finished work from moisture. Cons - overpriced and quick drying of paints - you need to close the jars tightly, otherwise the paint will dry out.
