Review on Gates TCK329 Timing Belt Component by Joshua Gaines

Perfect fit for my 2006 Acura MDX 3.5L engine. Box stated that the belt was made in the USA and the two pulleys were made in Japan. 4 stars because I don't know about durability - but don't worry. I changed the belt after 7 years and 104,000 km. I thought long and hard about just changing the belt or buying a kit with additional parts. I called two dealerships in the Southern California area and got mixed answers about what changing a timing belt changes and what is additional but often routine. I'm glad I bought this kit because the original pulleys had a little play. I also replaced the tensioner and water pump which I bought separately (same brand). A little liquid ran out of the tensioner and the pump pulley also had play. Knowing this now, I would consider buying a kit with all five pieces. It's a lot of work, so do-it-yourself, and if you want to keep the car I think it's worth the cost of replacing all five components. You might want to compare the price of the bundle versus the individual items first.
