Review on Discover Delphi HP10089: An Efficient Hanger Pump Assembly by Peter Joseph

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works on my '02 F150 5.4 V8 Supercrew

So far so good. Perfect fit for my 2002 F150. The old pump had over 180,000 miles and lost pressure when it shut off, and the pressure was only 28psi while running (should be closer to 32-36, although 28 is just on the low end of spec). I got the old one before it completely failed. I figured a well known brand would be a safe bet and half the price of a Motorcraft brand pump. The pump assembly fits perfectly, fuel pressure is now 34psi when running and no pressure drop when shut off. The fuel gauge works perfectly. My only concern is that the fuel sock on this one is smaller than the original one I pulled, but it's by no means a deal breaker. If this bothers you greatly, you can order an OEM size and dress up before fitting, but I wouldn't bother. My assembly looks a little different than the picture in the description. I don't have a piece of rubber around the pump itself, don't know what to do with it, the OEM had one too. Tons of installation videos online to replace this with the F150. Someone says remove the bed, someone throw the tank. The tank had to be dropped as I have a super crew and the fuel pump itself is mainly under the cab and not under the body. There are no problems with the pump. The supplied gasket fits perfectly, the wiring harness is the same length as the OEM. The only problem I had was unplugging the connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor. Took me about 3 hours to do it myself with a jack and two stands. Might walk a little faster with help but can be done alone. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is that it's only been in use for a month, so I don't know if it will last as long as the OEM, but it has a 'limited lifespan'. "Warranty, whatever that means. Edit: Changed to 5 stars as it still seems to last. Update: May 21, 2019 2.5 years / 14,000 miles on this pump and it's still working fine. Pressure is still the same as new and no leaks even after not using it for a few days although the old pump is less than 15 years old / 185,000 miles so far so good.
