I bought this to replace a Schlage battery operated combination bar which has proved unreliable in cold weather. After changing the combination (which must be done first), the bolt is installed in 5 minutes. The accompanying video was clearer than the written instructions. So far the device works quite well. The combination can be 4-6 of 12 (0-9, A, B) keys in *any order* Pros: no batteries, all mechanical and relatively simple. Fast installation. There is also no need to re-enter the combination from the outside when blocking; Unlocking only requires entering a code, which I think is a feature. Cons: Some grip strength is required to fully rotate the round knob, which is necessary to properly reset the buttons.
