We installed this head unit and speakers in our 1987 Samurai. We removed the existing clock, cut a bit of a hole in the dash and fitted the head unit. Base plate could not be used because it is too narrow with air ducts under the dash. I had to trim the holes for the old speakers a bit, but there was no problem installing the new speakers. The sound quality is good for this device and the size of the speakers. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to pair BT the first time and the volume on the device needs to be turned up to around 25 to hear the audio loud enough when driving with BT, even with the volume turned down on the phone to stop.
