I would call these "sifters "

I was looking for a small sifter. Because? Well, some of the packaged condiments made by companies like McCormick, Lipton, and Knorr make quite good flavorings. One of my favorites is Lipton's French Onion Soup Mixture. It's a great seasoning for many dishes, including roasts that I might want to sear before (or after) putting them on the grill or in the oven. Another option is McCormick Meatloaf Seasoning, a great seasoning for chicken my favorite way to cook it: sear in a pan and then cook through in the oven. The problem is that you can't use these spices for frying if they contain onions. . Onions caramelize quickly and end up burning before they're even fully hydrated, and it really detracts from the flavor and texture of the dish when you find hard and crunchy burnt onions in every bite. So I have to sift the spices. one of the most. I often cook chicken breasts and the small breast is just right for sifting a 6 ounce chicken breast. A medium size is also handy as it seems to be suitable for roasts. Big? I will probably never use it. I don't find it practical to use as a filter for a number of reasons. They're made of flexible wire, and a large load of noodles will likely break them. Also, I like to save some water when cooking pasta, so I need a colander with a more controlled output. But like the screens I bought them for, they are perfect.
