So we bought this unit after a refurbishment so no instructions came with it. While that is the case, this machine was fairly easy to use, plus there are online manuals. I use the auto brew function every morning for my work coffee (very easy) and I use the 1-4 button which slows down the water delivery which makes the coffee more saturated and improves the taste and aroma. There is definitely a difference when brewing the same amount of coffee. The development of this product really pays off my 5 star rating. Everything seems so solid. The ideal weight for an espresso tray. The stainless steel espresso filter is easy to clean. The included reusable coffee grounds filter has a handle for easy removal, as does the filter holder and water tank. In fact, you can throw the filter holder in the car and it will snap into place just like the filter. The water tank has such a nice slow descent as it lets gravity take over. On the espresso side, dammit. I'm an internet barista, which means I read a few articles and watched YouTube videos before making my first shot/drink. So my first drink was decent, but I change little things here and there, and my last drink was for money. I don't need to drink a $6 espresso anymore. You must take the lead reviewer's advice and drain the water once before adding the ground espresso. The machine requires heating of all hose components. A world of differences. And run the frother once into an empty cup until the steam is released. Most things in life need to warm up after a cold start. The components are easy to clean. Everything is very intuitive. Take care of it, clean it after each use and you will reap the rewards. By the way, you're paying $60 for a refurbished unit that's for sale, but even the full $250 still gets the same rating.
