After initially dosing CUPRAMINE into the 37 and 55g tanks I could not get the SALIFERT test to turn blue including running a test with Seachems Reference water for copper testing (it should be 0.5). ). The SEACHEM copper test worked and showed shades of blue for 10 minutes including the exact 0.5 for the reference water included in the Seachem kit. Switch to one of the color bars. I think seachem works better by requiring the use of a 2nd Regent, which itself is also the limiting factor, a negligible (hard to see/measurable) amount is provided/required. I think 10-20 tests would be more accurate for the amount Seachem Regent supplies. I'll end up (reluctantly) using the Seachem kit. My final thoughts are that the SALIFERT and SEACHEM reviews are riddled with inaccuracies and perhaps performance of kits with different types of copper should be published rather than blanket claims of general compatibility.
