The Salifert test kit offers a very sensitive and accurate test for measuring dissolved or weakly chelated copper with a pH of 7.5–9. Lasts for several copper cures or provides sufficient for up to 50 tests on tap or aquarium water as a routine check. Ca be used for marine, fresh and garden pond water. Great as always at Fish & Aquatic Pets

The products cost a little more but I feel more confident using them due to previous false positives due to spoiled test kits.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some little things

Worked great as expected

Works well, especially on low readings. It is important to hold the bottle on paper as instructed in the instructions. I made the mistake of looking at the bottle first.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Disappointing latency

Test accurate, transparent container punches from test materials after first use, which I think makes subsequent tests less accurate. Waiting 30 minutes for results is a nuisance if you're worried about copper levels.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No automatic

Better than SeaChem copper test

I use cupramine and the SeaChem test shows twice the copper it actually contains. If you know anything about copper treatment, then you know that there is cause for concern when the results are twice what they should be. I've searched the forums and found that many people are already using the Salifert kit. It's not impressive, but much more accurate than the SeaChem kit. When I test this kit for accuracy the results make sense, but not even when I used SeaChem test water with the SeaChem kit.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Fair

Have this and the Seachem copper test

After initially dosing CUPRAMINE into the 37 and 55g tanks I could not get the SALIFERT test to turn blue including running a test with Seachems Reference water for copper testing (it should be 0.5). ). The SEACHEM copper test worked and showed shades of blue for 10 minutes including the exact 0.5 for the reference water included in the Seachem kit. Switch to one of the color bars. I think seachem works better by requiring the use of a 2nd Regent, which itself is also the limiting factor, a…
