Review on πŸ”² Pink/Blue 24x36-Inch Professional Self Healing Cutting Mat for Scrapbooking, Quilting, Sewing - Non-Slip, Durable, 5-Ply PVC Material by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not 24x36 inches. Only 23 " x 35 ". Suitable for general crafts but not suitable for rotary cutting/quilting.

Updated Review: The longer I own this rug the more frustrated and frustrated I get. I just changed my rating from 3 to 1. This mat is advertised as 24 x 36 but is not. The edges are very thin. Too thin to use the circle cutter without banging the table. The material is terrible and dulls my blades. I am very disappointed in this rug. What a scam. First review: I own a fabric shop and use a self-healing Olfa mat in my shop. I cut the 18" line a mile off a lot, so that spot wears out quickly. I decided to try these mats to save some money, but the finish isn't nearly as good as that of Olfa. It's very malleable and blunts my spinning blades much quicker than my signature Olfa mat. My other complaint is that my Olfa rug is 37" wide, so I have 1/2" around the entire perimeter of my rug .Cutting the 36" mark with my straight ruler and rotating blade is easy, but almost impossible on a US Art Supply mat without risking getting off the mat, since the 0 and 36" marks are Markings are about 1/8" from the edge. , so a small slip could cause me to come off the mat completely. That's my biggest complaint about this rug. This rug is also very stiff and doesn't have a hanging hole (like the Olfa) but if I lay it on its side it warps and then needs to be "cured" by laying it on a hard surface for a good 12 hours to smooth it out. . I'm running back to Olfa but I'll keep this one to protect surfaces from paint and for use in scrapbooking or when using glue etc. It's a little cheaper but not worth the money. Lesson learned.

Pros
