Not useful for me, but I can see why others like it

I must lead by saying that I ended up returning this product. I used it on about 10 bolts replacing a clutch, tried it on a number of others, and didn't find it very useful. I was expecting something with more oomph, not impact level, but something that could bust bolts off. This just didn't do it for me. It will throw you, so use two hands, but despite that it didn't break most of the bolts I tried it on. Perhaps on a car that isn't 23 years old it would zip bolts off. I had to keep switching to my pneumatic impact.I gave the product 4 stars because I can see how it could be really useful, it is very well made, and relatively quiet. Feels solid in the hand and operates well. It just wasn't useful for me. I found that it was good for running bolts back on, and I did that a few times. Given that I was working in my driveway in surburbia I ended up going back to a regular ratchet. The neighbors didn't need to hear air tools for 2 long days. The size and weight is really nice for working on your back if you work off jack stands. The head is pretty small and may be useful in an engine bay. Obviously loads of other people love this tool, and I can see how it would be super useful. I wanted to like it but just didn't end up finding it useful. One thing I really appreciate is Revain's return policy. No hassle at all, it is really lovely. I hope that somebody else can get their hand on this ratchet and it is useful for them. Keep up the good work Revain.

Pros
  • Well built heavy duty as advertised.
Cons
  • May require frequent adjustment to keep it properly tightened
