Works exactly as you'd expect and was simple to install. I bought 18 pounds of fire rock, and had about 3 pounds left over, so 15 pounds should do it. Also, the recommended 1/2" propane adapter fitting does connect to the fitting on this fire pit, but it will NOT fit the hose they recommend. You will need a 3/8" male flare to 1/2" female "reducing" fitting to get the hose to connect to the propane fitting. I wish Revain had told me this, I needed to run to the hardware store for that fitting. I would also recommend an ignitor. This works fine with a lighter, but an ignitor would be handy and they are cheap.
