My 2004 Suburban has a mirror mount (the one for the intermediate arm) hidden under the air conditioning compressor with a gap of only about 1.5 inches. I have a Lincoln 1134 grease gun and a standard fitting would not fit in the small space. So I decided to try this faucet. As always, I read the reviews on this part first to see how people are getting on with the customization. It was immediately apparent that it was getting either "hot or cold" reviews, with some believing it was good, others going so far as to call it rubbish and a waste of money. Whenever I see such a dichotomy in reviews, I understand that the purchase can be risky. Sometimes negative reviews tell a story. The first thing I noticed when I took this fitting out of the crib was some sort of dried, transparent, sealant-like substance in the tip. I'm not sure if it was a by-product or a manufacture or a greasy coating or something else. In any case, I cleaned it first with an oil dipstick to make sure everything was clean. I then screwed the fitting onto the hose of the 1134 grease gun and tested for compression. The first squirt of lube was very thin so I nudged it again, tried another squirt and voila, a full squirt of lube. So next, to see how it works on my customization. When I first tried it on a tight fit, the fat came out on the sides and didn't make it into the mirror. I was like, "Oh," the bad reviews were real. I persistently cleaned the faucet and then paid close attention to how I placed the end on the mirror. I put it on as close as possible to the 90 degree plug-in angle, pushed it a bit and heard/felt a "click". Ahhh, this time it was fixed. Didn't do it the first time. Then I pressed it firmly against the oiler at a 90 degree angle and pulled the grease gun trigger. Success! The grease penetrated the fitting perfectly after 5-6 pumps until the trunk was successfully filled! When I then removed the shroud from the mirror, it was firmly locked - just like the standard 1134 shroud lock on the Add. Celebration. Having already used the standard fitting, I pulled hard on this 90 degree fitting (holding it at a 90 degree angle) and it popped out with no problem. Conclusion: This faucet did exactly what it was supposed to do. I am very happy with the 1134 grease gun and now the 90 fitting too. Worked like a champ for me! Recommended for bottlenecks with little play at the top - I've used it on two fittings now with no problems. If there are any problems with this faucet in the future I will update my review. Thank you for reading.
