Review on Pacer Performance 25 515 Black Bumper by Joshua Mejia

A little difficult to install. Double sided tape may not stick if you took out an old kit that was sitting on a shelf.

The concept of this product is good, it offers a little bumper protection, but it is difficult to install. This is a strong 13' rounded rubber strip approximately 1-1/2" wide and 5/8" thick. You cut it to length and use the end caps provided to finish it off and make it smooth on the ends. Before purchasing, I would advise you to first look at the pdf manual on the www.pacerperformance.com website. You will need to clean the bumper or doors very well so the tape will stick and also use the blue painters tape as a guide to try to keep it straight when applying. You should apply it on a warm day as it curls up into a very tight coil and needs to be straightened. A hair dryer can also help to warm up. It helps to have two people for the application. The main issue I had was that the two strips of double sided tape attached to it appeared to be old and not sticking to the car's bumper. (Another reviewer had the same issue.) This is a common problem with parts that are already attached with double-sided tape rather than on a separate roll. I had to scrape off most of the attached tape (pain) and buy 26ft (to make two thin strips) of heavy duty double sided tape designed for body side moldings (at an auto parts store). Ordinary double-sided tape won't hold. In addition, the rubber is very hard; If you need body side moldings, you can purchase a more flexible, cut-to-length version at some auto parts stores. It is easier to work with such side pieces. It might be better to just go to an auto parts store like NAPA and see what they have on a roll and buy double sided molding tape separately. It is also available from professional body and paint shops. You can also check if they have "plugs" to terminate the ends like in this kit. The problem with bad glue is PITA and it's impossible to tell if you're getting a new bumper guard or an old one with bad tape.
