Haven't tried the night vision feature yet but so far I'm really impressed with this system. I use it in a unicell cutaway Ford E350 van so the regular rearview mirror is useless. I want it to work as a rear view mirror with a backup camera which makes it great. The image quality and field of view are excellent. I was really impressed with the playback preview function. Even more impressive was the sound quality. Recorded by mobile phone and filmed by the front camera. I then removed the SD cards from each and played two videos side by side on my laptop. The audio quality of the video from this system was significantly better than my phone video - I could hear the car driving down the road for 3-4 seconds before my phone picked it up. Not only that, my voice was always clearer when speaking in the cockpit than when recording video on the phone. I had no problems with the micro SD card and wasn't even sure if I had the right type. I didn't format it from the system either - I just popped it in and the system immediately wrote it down. I haven't really "installed" the reversing camera yet - I just attached it to the bumper and connected it directly to the mirror with a cable that just runs across the floor of the van's interior. But since I have a fairly large van, I'm not sure if the cable that comes with it is long enough to hide it. I may need to buy an extension cord or a longer cord. I am very happy with this system and think for the price it is a quality system with lots of features and options.
