
Pro: The shape of the ice cube is very practical for drinks in bottles with a narrow neck. which tend to freeze to each other if you put them back in the freezer. Also, filling the bowls with water to make cubes is far from ideal as there is no "self-leveling" of the water to help you being sure you don't under- or over-fill the shells (and the fairly high rim at the top of the shells ensures that if you over-fill, you'll connect all the cubes together impenetrably). Finally, trays are quite flexible at room temperature, so it can be difficult to place well-stocked trays in the freezer without buckling and water leaking into the freezer. (The trays are too big to fit properly in my fridge's ice bucket, so I'll have to adjust them. I may end up cutting off the last cube or two to make the trays easier to fit in the freezer.)
