I needed something to move the water in a birdbath on my patio, to prevent mosquitoes. It's a semi-shaded location that never gets any really strong sun, so I worried that a solar fountain might not work at all.This little pump goes like a champ in direct sunlight, but even when my patio moves into shade the solar panel can keep the water moving in short, intermittent bursts. Not as pretty as it is in full sun, but more than enough to keep the water fresh and bug-free. It has even managed this during the darkness of a thunderstorm.It was very simple to set up; just open the box, choose the spray nozzle (it comes with four) and assemble the little legs that keep the fountain centered in the basin. It took less than five minutes from opening the box to having it out on the patio pumping water in the birdbath. I'm very pleased with this little fountain.
