Review on 9.5-inch High Leverage Lineman's Pliers: Superior Strength for Electricians and Cutting Tasks by Brian West

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality mechanical and hand tools

My father gave me my first pliers more than 50 years ago. If you have pliers and pliers of this type, you can do a variety of tasks with just two tools. Lineman pliers are designed for cutting wire (blade inside) and deburring a metal raceway (outside the working end) and bending wire, but they have many other uses. But a caterpillar tong is not just a caterpillar tong. Take ergonomic differences, for example. It is important for me. I'm a climber and I do difficult climbs that sometimes tire my arms for days or even weeks (try clamping the V6 a little more than your body weight). So I need pliers with high leverage and a soft grip. Since I already own other Sunex tools that meet this standard very well, I was delighted with these Sunex pliers. I've worked on projects where we shared each other's tools and I've used some cheap pliers. Cutting 4 AWG copper wire with mine is no problem. A cheap pair makes you feel like you're about to break your pliers or your arm. Then you look at the intangible blade of these pliers and see a dent. Sunex pliers have a strong, sharp blade. It cuts cleanly without requiring excessive pressure. This is a great addition to my collection of tools.
