Better than expected!

My rottweiler had abdominal surgery with 12 inch staples. It was immediately clear that the HUGE cone they had given her would not suit us. I found this product, took the measurements according to the instructions and it was a perfect fit for her. It was a bit difficult to put on her because she wanted to sit all the time, so we eventually found with two people that we could roll her onto her back and put it on much easier when she was lying down. Not the product's fault, she's a 100 lb pup on drugs! Must be neatly tied. For a few nights she must have been moving a lot and her hind legs slipped down. We found that this didn't happen as we tied it up better and washed it every few days. It got caught on an pulled-out filing cabinet drawer, which immediately tore one of the ties, leaving a hole. I used skate lace and sewed everything back on and everything worked fine. She wore it for almost a full 2 weeks and we just got home from the vet who was very impressed with her healing and how well she stopped her from licking or chewing on the cut area. Highly recommended and will definitely use in the future if needed. It could have been made a little more durable for larger breeds so I only gave it 4 stars but overall it was worth the investment and took its entire restoration with some minor repairs. Also, it cost LESS than the silly cone I got "gifted" at the vet which cost $30.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Some bugs
