Review on πŸ’» TRENDnet TEW-651BR Wireless N Home Router in Piano Black - 150Mbps GREENnet Technology by Agung Budiyanto ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and quality product, but there are flaws.

The router works very stably when kept outdoors. Since TrendNet, when creating the cheapest WiFi feeder, first correctly spread the board, but in order to optimize on the way to the conveyor, quartz resonators and part of the capacitances were lost, which negatively affected the stability of the work - if it was placed in conditions with insufficient cooling - in my case, under ADSL modem (considering how it is made, it is problematic to look for something similar in quality, so WIFI is separate) it can fail. Therefore, if it does not work stably for you or refuses to distribute something at all, let it cool down. Soldering the missing elements without reassembling the firmware is stupid, in the latter case, get ready to search PLS for a comb with a step of 1.27 for JTAG (and saved here). The antenna is soldered "on the snot", but given this, it will not be difficult to replace it with something useful, like the well-known fashion from a beer can. But at the same time, there is space on the board for normal SMA connectors. In general, using a soldering iron, a desoldering pump, and ideally, a programmer can do a very decent thing. Considering the cost, even in the form in which it is now, there are no complaints and cannot be

Pros
  • Works very stable good software Easy to set up
Cons
  • Built-in antenna. Half of the board's stuffing is not soldered, half of the glitches follow from here
