It's not nearly as fast as it should be. It offers the same speed as the USB adapter it was intended to replace. I bought it about 13 years ago. I get about 150-200Mbps with my laptop with built-in WiFi, with this adapter on my desktop I got about 5-10Mbps. Both speed tests were conducted in the same location in our home, about 15 feet from my router, with no walls in the way. Very poor results compared to what is advertised, especially since other people seem to be seeing slightly faster speeds. I'm not sure if the adapter I received is faulty, but I plan to go back and get something that actually works. I wouldn't recommend this as it only offers speeds that were only moderately fast 10-15 years ago.
