Review on Giro Radix MIPS Mountain Bike Helmet for Men by Jamar Gow

very convenient! easy to set up! but i have to make my own goggle holders with zips

i have been riding with a fox helmet for the last 7 years and in the winter i always ride without it because it's not big enough to to fit over a hat and nobody makes a helmet big enough and I don't want to sweat in a ski helmet even though it looks cool. After looking everywhere for Smith and never being able to find the XL version, I finally found this one and ordered the largest size. It fits great at about 23.5 inches with nothing but a bandana and the Mips are a huge improvement in comfort and are super easy to set up. I didn't think I'd like the under-ear Y-connectors, but they work really well. Attach the side with the inner buckle first, thread the cable to the other side, attach the other side and cut off the excess, thread in the webbing and singe the end with a lighter, done. to attach a headlamp for night riding, and the helmet tilts back to carry large snow goggles. The only complaint I had was: why don't helmet manufacturers put headlamp and goggle guides on every helmet? Didn't we get that? So I spent the day looking at all the horrible 3m long sticky things that I knew would melt and come off my helmet and then I finally settled on medium sized black zippers, 8 inch black. You can position them and route them under the meeps so you don't feel them. When viewing the helmet from the rear, use the left of center and right of center holes instead of the center holes. And these are holes at the top and bottom, and the middle ones remain open. So you attach four drawstrings, one at each corner, and position the part that goes up with the zipper so that the lip sticks out. They're the perfect little non-stick clips for goggles and headlamps that don't overload the helmet or ruin its look. I also added two in the front where the visor pops into the center hole so you can shake your head like crazy like you're riding over logs and now your headlamp doesn't slide off the front of the helmet and flap around. in your face. 6 zipties and you're good to go. Great helmet, so comfortable and easy to fit. Includes goggle straps and it's great!
