2 stars for easy installation. It takes a healthy fear of electricity, a soldering iron or crimping tool, and patience to watch a few YouTube videos. I figured I'd have to replace the entire fan or pay an electrician $$$ to figure out what was wrong. This made it like new again. The fan was at an odd speed, slower than low. Electrical short circuit test, complete disconnection never performed. It will not start or stop at other speeds. Just crawl very slowly. Oh, and the smell. He smelled of danger or death or both. Port Breeze (Lowes brand) was my fan. Adjust farad characteristics and connect wires. good to go Use lots of shrink tubing or tape. The second fan I tried to fix this way didn't work. DOA capacitor. Where is the quality control?
