This is a very well designed mounting plate for easy installation of off-road headlights. Although it is very light, it is more than strong enough for its purpose. This unit is very easy to install with license plate screws, but most inserts on most vehicles are usually plastic and they can become loose and/or crack when you need to hold something that supports much more than the weight of the license plate. . With that in mind I used standard license plate screws and added a self tapping screw that went straight into my truck's metal bumper to ensure it could support the weight of the headlights I mounted to the mounting plate. Everything is taken into account. I think this is a great mounting bracket and by far the easiest way to install aftermarket lighting on your vehicle whether it is used to mount lights on the front or rear of the vehicle.
