Review on πŸ”‘ Enhanced Motorcraft SW6383 Ignition Switch and Lock Cylinder for Optimal Performance and Security by James Chandran

Motorcraft OEM part!

Original Motorcraft switches. But *in my setup* on a 1995 F-150 there is no longer an "Accessories" entry. I only have Off/Start/Run. At least my spinning broken old bezel is gone. It was fairly easy to code the plates for my existing keys. Instructions are good, all necessary parts are included. The only real knock is the awkward keyhole. Looks like a duckbill compared to the sleek, angular OEM look. Or Dorman for $12. EDIT 7/30/19: My brother said to turn the key harder and further counter-clockwise (towards ACC). Boom! At first he was reluctant to join the ACC! Another dozen cycles of CCW/CW/CCW and there it is. ACE works. Corresponds to the OG key. No more spinning bezel and buzzer every time I turn the car off! 100% success and satisfaction. This requires some mechanical skill. Not difficult, but logical. What about piston and ball? Make sure the key is properly centered so the spring is centered and perpendicular in the pocket. Put some grease on the ball and center it on the spring. Then, using a small screwdriver, lift the retaining spring and reinsert the plunger. Press down firmly and turn the key as instructed. Be sure to use all of the grease listed in the package to lubricate the plates, inside of the case and internal parts. I don't want to take it apart and do it again soon!
