I got them for color coding milk cans. Before I write the date on the lid, but with SOOO more fresh milk, colored lids actually makes it easier to keep track of what day of the week the milk is from. Now I can look in the fridge and figure out which glasses of milk to grab first. At first I used the silicone rings that came with the kit, but one day I accidentally covered the lid without inserting the silicone ring. To mix the cream with milk again, you need to shake vigorously if the milk has stood for more than 24 hours. Without a silicone ring, there was no leak! Glad I found this - one less thing to clean up. I haven't used silicone rings since then and I haven't had any problems with milk spilling out when shaking the bottles. Excellent lid. We will be ordering more in the near future as we have lots of milk and another pregnant cow.
