I have an old 30 inch film monitor that I've been using for years. I had a Dual Link DVI graphics card on my Mac Pro, then a Mini DisplayPort adapter for the Macbook Pro, and finally I was trying to get a USB-C adapter for my new Macbook Pro. * Works with Mini DisplayPort adapter. Of course, please heed the warnings that this is not a Thunderbolt adapter, but if you use the right parts it will work. Bad: It's cheap. My main complaint is that the actual mini DisplayPort jack they plug into the device is awful. Every time I plug/unplug the USB-C side (yes, the USB-C side, not the Mini DisplayPort side) of my laptop, I have a 50/50 chance that the Mini -DisplayPort cable moved a bit. , causing the connection to fail. This means I have to constantly wiggle the mini-DisplayPort cable in its socket, hoping I can get *just* the right orientation inside. After a while it gets very annoying. I also suspect there are issues with the order in which the cables should be plugged in (the USB-B port on the monitor requires a separate adapter). Finally, I haven't gotten this adapter to work through any other USB-C peripheral yet (including power strips like the ubiquitous USB-C to USB/video/power adapter adapters that every Macbook owner has six of. So expect to have to plug it directly into your computer.Bad, but sometimes I get colored noisy horizontal lines in parts of the screen. It didn't bother me much, especially since they aren't always there, but it was enough every now and then Currently usually when watching a video or dynamic graphics on a dark background (the color stands out a bit against the background).
